ScrapFest in Oshawa FAQs

I have never attended ScrapFest before. Can you explain the different passes to me?

VIP Marketplace Pass: $20+HST. This is a two day event pass that allows you to join in our special Friday night VIP Marketplace and then come back and shop all day on Saturday. You also receive the VIP "scrap" bag which is filled with product from our sponsors. These tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance. VIP Passes sell out quickly so be ready to register on Wednesday, August 22nd at 8pm.

ScrapFest Crop: $69+HST. The price of the Crop includes: your VIP pass ($20 value) to the ScrapFest Marketplace (both Friday and Saturday), hours of cropping time, a "crop" bag filled with product from our sponsors, scheduled contests, giveaways, and more!!!

Saturday Marketplace pass: $10+HST (in advance) or $12 at the door. This allows you to shop in the ScrapFest Marketplace only on Saturday, October 13th, 2012 from 9am - 5pm. It may be purchased in advance or at the door. You do not receive any type of goodie bag with this pass.

As well, you can also purchase educational classes at an additional cost. A Marketplace pass is not included in the cost of any class and you must have a pass to enter the Marketplace.

ScrapFest Marketplace Hours:

Shop the days away at the ScrapFest Marketplace! With plenty of vendors to choose from you are sure to find something unique for your paper crafting needs. The hours for the Marketplace are:

  • Friday October 12th: 5:00pm-10:00pm (VIP night/ScrapFest Crop participants only)
  • Saturday October 13th: 9:00am-5:00pm (Open to the General Public)

What are the hours of operation for the ScrapFest Crop?

  • Friday, October 12th, 2012: 1:00pm-12:00am
  • Saturday, October 13th, 2012: 9:00am-9:00pm

The cost for the ScrapFest Crop will be $69.00+HST. This cost includes a 2 day Marketplace pass. Croppers may pick up their tickets at the Registration desk located at Durham College's Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre on Friday, October 12th starting at 12:00pm. Parking is free after 12:00pm only for those participants attending the ScrapFest Crop or taking a class on Friday afternoon.

What size tables are being used for the ScrapFest Crop?

The ScrapFest Crop will be setup using 6ft rectangular tables with every participant being given 3ft of space. The Crop will be held in the Marketplace, however this area will be draped off to allow for more cropping time but the same amount of shopping time!

I am attending the ScrapFest Crop. Can I leave my scrapbooking things in the cropping area?

You are quite welcome to leave your materials/projects and your rolling totes at your seat overnight in the Cropping Area. ScrapFest does provide security throughout the day and overnight. However, we do recommend that you take any expensive/valuable items (eg Cricut) home with you on Friday night as we are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Can children attend a ScrapFest Crop?

Out of consideration for other scrapbookers, we request no children under the age of 13 in the crop or any classes.

How do I purchase tickets for ScrapFest in Oshawa?

Registration is done here off of the website by going to Registration which is located under the Oshawa 2012 menu. This will bring you to the catalogue where you can review all classes, the Crop and Marketplace passes. These can easily be purchased by putting the product into your shopping cart. Registration opens on Wednesday, August 22nd at 8pm ET.

ScrapFest accepts the following forms of payment: PayPal and Credit Card.

Will you be mailing the tickets?

Sorry, tickets will not be mailed prior to the event. All tickets will be available to be picked up at the Registration table located at Durham College's Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre beginning on Friday, October 12th, 2012.

ScrapFest Croppers may pick up their tickets beginning at 12:00pm. Anyone taking a class on Friday afternoon may also pick up their tickets at this time. Parking is FREE at noon for anyone registered for the ScrapFest Crop or a Friday afternoon class.

Registration for VIP participants begins at 3:45pm. Parking is FREE beginning at 3:30pm for VIP participants and FREE all day on Saturday.

Can you purchase a Saturday Marketplace pass at the door on Saturday, October 13th?

Yes, these tickets are available through on-line registration ($10+HST) and at the door ($12 cash only please). All other ScrapFest tickets have to be purchased through the on-line registration due to limited spots (ie. VIP night, classes, and the ScrapFest crop).

What should I do if the item (ScrapFest Crop, VIP, or a class) I was interested in is Sold Out?

If an item is Sold Out, a "WAITING LIST" button will appear and you will be able to put yourself on the waiting list. Please note: ScrapFest is not able to guarantee the availability of this product, and you will only be notified if a spot becomes available.

If there is a "SOLD OUT" button on a product, this indicates that the waiting list for this product is full and we are not able to accept any more names.

What forms of payment are accepted in the ScrapFest Marketplace?

Exhibitors accept cash and the majority of exhibitors also accept credit card and debit. Please check with them to see what they accept. There is an ATM machine located outside of the entrance to the Marketplace.

Is Durham College wheel chair accessible?

Yes, Durham College is a wheel chair accessible facility. There are elevators located in the building to take you to classes located on the upper floor.

What is the cost for children to attend ScrapFest?

Children 10 and under receive free admittance to ScrapFest's Marketplace ONLY on Saturday October 13th, 2012. Due to the limited number of VIP tickets, children that wish to attend ScrapFest's VIP evening must pay full price.

How much does parking cost?

Parking is FREE beginning at noon on Friday, October 12th for ScrapFest Crop participants and anyone taking a class on Friday afternoon.

Parking is free for VIP participants AFTER 3:30pm on Friday. Prior to this time, parking costs a flat rate of $4.00. Parking is FREE all day on Saturday, October 13th.

ScrapFest is providing a complimentary shuttle service from the Founders Lot 3 Parking Lot to the Campus Wellness and Recreation Centre, where ScrapFest is being held. See below for hours of operation.

HOWEVER, this year you need to obtain a parking stub when you enter the parking lot in order to be let out of the parking lot at the end of the evening, so make sure you don't lose it.

ScrapFest is not able to provide you with a replacement. Put it in your wallet so you have it available on your exit!!

Shuttle Service

There is a complimentary shuttle service which runs from the Founders 3 Parking Lot to the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre, where ScrapFest is being held. The hours of operation are as follows:

Food Concession

There will be a food concession stand located inside the ScrapFest Marketplace. Hours of operation will be as follows: Friday from TBA and Saturday TBA.

The Fresh Food Company (cafeteria) is open to anyone on campus. It is located in the South Village Dining Hall. It will be open as follows: Friday: TBA, Saturday TBA.

There is a Subway and Taco Time located across from the campus.

What if I have pre-ordered tickets and can't make it to the event?

Before submitting your order please review your selections. All event tickets are non-refundable after your order has been confirmed. Changes may be made to your event selections up to September 25th, 2012. Please see the Purchase Policy in the Shopping Cart for further details.

All reservations or rooming lists must be received August 28th, 2012. All reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card or an advance payment.

Individual cancellations require 24 hours prior to arrival.

This hotel is about a 10-15 minute drive away.

What does a Basic Tool Kit consist of?

A Basic Tool Kit consists of a 12"x 12" personal trimmer, favorite pair of straight-edge, micro-tip scissors, favorite adhesives- both wet and dry, black and brown ink, black archival journaling pen, paper piercer and mat, regular hole punch, ruler, pencil, eraser, corner rounder (optional), stapler (optional)
